When one of Circoflo’s loyal customers, John Wood from Woodfield Plumbing based in West Yorkshire, asked for assistance with an underfloor heating project, the team at Circoflo were, as always, keen to help in any way possible. However, with the COVID restrictions on essential travel in 2019, and the health and wellbeing of both staff and customers the priority, a site visit was obviously not going to be an option for the foreseeable future. So, rising to the challenge to find an approach which matched the flexibility of their systems, Circoflo looked to adapt their working practice and quickly found a solution. From a photograph of some very basic drawings (think sharpie pen on a scrap of plasterboard), with dimensions marked clearly and a video tour of the site sent across by John via WhatsApp, the technical team at Circoflo were able to produce a full quotation, design and CAD line drawing which was sent back to the client for approval.
Thanks to some out-of-the-box thinking, the customer was able to place his order via telephone with HolmeBuild independent builders merchants based in Honley. Then, using their usual logistics, Circoflo were able to supply the product direct to site on pallets, which using a tail lift and a pallet truck didn’t require any two-man lifting. John was then able to get on with the installation, closely following the design supplied in a safe, controlled and isolated environment. The site was a retrofit project using Circoflo’s FloFloor system, a foil-faced 18mm XPS insulation panel, with a pre-routered multi directional groove to take the standard 12mm flexible underfloor heating pipe. On top of this, John will be fixing a 9mm ply throughout to enable the client to lay their choice of floor covering.
